I'm Michaela, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Rapid City, SD. I was literally born into the wedding industry, and I photographed my first wedding in 2012 and was immediately hooked on capturing the honest, and emotion-filled moments that make wedding days so special. Adventuresome couples tend to be laid-back, and care about having fun and creating intentional, meaningful moments at their weddings.
Whether you're exchanging vows privately under a canopy of aspen trees or surrounded by all of your loved ones in Custer State Park, I'm here to make sure your day is documented in a way that feels genuine to your unique love story.

the process

fill out my contact form
Reach out to me via my contact form and I will be in touch with some must-know info about my services. We will also have a brief meeting over zoom or over coffee if you're close to make sure we're all a good fit for each other.

Sign contract and Pay retainer fee
To officially be on my books, I require a signed contract and 25% retainer fee with the rest due before your wedding. You can pay everything online, make payments and set it and forget it! It's a piece of cake!

plan your Wedding
I want to make planning as stress-free as possible for you! I will help you build a timeline, send you vendor recommendations, and know the details of your day so well, that you can fully be immersed in your wedding instead of managing the party.

Your Wedding day
On the day of your wedding, I will arrive a bit early to scope out locations and meet everyone. I'll guide you through the portraits and get a mix of candid and more posed-for-mom's-mantle kind of pictures. During your reception, I photograph the events that unfold in a photojournalistic way.

Gallery delivery
I'm sure you'll be anxious to see some sneak peeks, so I will post a few on social media or send directly to you within about 48 hours of your wedding. Your full wedding will be delivered in an online gallery within six weeks of your wedding date. From there, you can download your files, share your gallery with family and friends, or even order archival quality prints, guaranteed to be incredible for years to come.
